Overview

A lot of students fail terminal exams in Nigeria as a result of poor preparation. SuccessBox aims at helping students study and pass exams. The app currently has about 20,000 users. The aim of this project is to improve the experience and get new users by redesigning the application.

The Approach

I started out by doing qualitative research to understand the issues around users’ experience of the product. I carried out a heuristics analysis of the application to identify the pain points of the users. I also spoke to some users to understand their needs.

Research Methods

User needs identified from the research include:

⚠️ Users have to always sign in each time they launch the app

⚠️ Users want to be able to highlight and save content

⚠️ Users want to be able to learn on-the-go

⚠️ The revision exercises at the end of each topic are not really utilized by the users

⚠️ It’s tough to navigate between topics in a subject

⚠️ Users want to be able to track their progress

Target audience

Students who are preparing for terminal examinations like BECE, WAEC, and JAMB, in Nigeria who are also tech-savvy.
